Senior Section Members have Team Spirit!

In March members of 4th Kingswood Rangers attended their first night navigation hike around Bristol. Starting and finishing at Briarlands, our county campsite, the rangers completed various activities as they moved from checkpoint to checkpoint completing the popular Avon Scouts event – The Rickard Shield.

The estimated time to complete the course is approximately 6 hours, this bunch of determined young women completed it in just over 7 hours, arriving back at base at 01:45am. Not bad for their first night navigation hike! Going in to the competition the girls knew what award they were aiming for, no it wasn’t the Rickard Shield – it was the Team Spirit Trophy. Armed with glow in the dark UV face paint, a chant about their team name and their general, determined get up and go attitude on Sunday morning, Normans Gnomes were presented with the Team Spirit Trophy. Their leaders became even prouder with the achievement when receiving an email from the event organiser stating the girls truly deserved the trophy as the checkpoint staff had made notes on how positive, polite and enthusiastic they all were.

Well done 4th Kingswood Rangers – proving just that #girlscan
